Newton County is 64 square miles and uses the Township Range System. A section is a basic unit of the system, a square tract of line one mile by one mile containing 640 acres. To locate the GPS of a cemetery, a combination of Google Earth, Google Maps (Internet) and Bing Maps (Internet) were used. The town listed below is the nearest town and the direction from the town a cemetery is located. Multiple sources were used to determine Quadrant, Township, Range and Section where the cemetery is located. The book was used as a starting point, but to insure accuracy, MDOT Newton County 2003 and the Series 1957, No. 1 Soil Survey of Newton County Mississippi (USDA) were used.
