Comments: My great grandfather James Baucum (1823-1881) and grandfather Charles A.Baucum (1868-1921)are buried at Poplar Springs cemetery southeast of Newton. I have some family history and would share with anyone who may have more information on the Baucum family. My uncle was once police chief at Newton and his uncle Thomas A. Baucum owned a hardware store in Newton.
