My great grandfather James Baucum (1823-1881) and grandfather Charles A.Baucum (1868-1921)are buried at Poplar Springs cemetery southeast of Newton. I have some family history and would share with anyone who may have more information on the Baucum family. My uncle was once police chief at Newton and his uncle Thomas A. Baucum owned a hardware store in Newton.

I've been researching a Price family line of Newton and Leake Counties in MS and can't seem to make a connection with any other Price families so far although I know there has to be one. The man I'm looking for into on is "Lewis (or) Louis Price" born in GA. wife "UNKNOWN". Had a son named Wiley P. Price who married Martha A. Davidson in Leake County, MS.
